Cloree Levern Briggs

“Co-Grandma” Briggs, age 94, of 1152 Dry Hill Road, Butler, TN passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee.   She was born February 23, 1922 to the late Hollis Mitchell and Gerotha Mitchell.  In addition to her parents, Cloree was preceded in death by her husband Harold Briggs, one son, Roger Briggs and four brothers and two sisters.  She was a homemaker and loved daily Bible studies and going to church, quilting, growing flowers, singing, line dancing and playing the guitar. She was a “Grandma” to everyone.  She was a member of Amazing Grace Christian Fellowship Church.

She is survived by a son Dwight and wife Susan Briggs of the home; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. 

Burial for “Grandma” Briggs will be in the Dry Hill Cemetery, Butler, Tennessee.

There will a be a celebration of life Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., from the Amazing Grace Christian Fellowship Church, 1923 Highway 421 North, Mountain City, TN, casual attire requested.
