Coy Ray Gentry

Coy Ray Gentry, age 73 of 1430 Hwy. 67 N., Trade, TN passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016. He was born May 17, 1942 to the late Emery Gentry and Ruth Morefield Gentry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Bessie Davis and Earleen Mabe. Coy attended Evergreen Baptist Church. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass Music and going to yard sales.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years Patsy Gentry, two daughters: Sherry Gentry Stanley and husband Doug, Angela “Cricket” Jenkins and husband Ray all of Trade, TN. One son, Larry Ray Gentry of Mountain City, TN, two sisters: Annis Greer of Oxford, PA and Evelyn Gentry of Jennersville, PA, five grandchildren: Greg Jenkins, Michael Gentry, Steven Gentry, all of Mountain City, TN, D.J. Stanley and Brittany Danner of Trade, TN, three great grandchildren: Connor Gentry, Marley Jenkins, and Addie Danner. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 from the Trade United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Tony Potter officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Gentry, Steven Gentry, Ray Jenkins, D.J. Stanley, Greg Jenkins, and Doug Stanley. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Watauga Medical Center, 2nd West, and the ICU.
