Hux-Lipford Funeral Home 300 West Main Street Mountain City, Tennessee 37683 Obituary for: Dagle D. Lipford Mr. Dagle D. Lipford, age 86, of 1034 Fall Branch Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away on Monday, March 19th, 2007 at the Johnson County Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Johnson County, Tennessee, he was born on December 9th, 1920 to the late B.C. Lipford and Mae Jones Lipford, and was preceded in death by four brothers; Gary Lipford, Perry Lipford, Raymond Lipford, and Ralph Lipford and one sister Norma South. He was a charter member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church where he served on the House and Grounds Committee for many years. Dagle Liked to grow a garden, Cut Firewood the outdoors, and NASCAR. Dagle was a United States Army Veteran of W.W.II having served in the 389th infantry Company L in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater where he received a purple heart. Survivors include Wife Laura Dunn Lipford of the homeone daughter, Becky Vanderheide and husband Alex, Hays, N.C.;one stepdaughter, Kathy Roberts, Mountain City, Tennessee, and Kathy Roberts, Mountain City, Tennessee, One Step Son, Glenn Blevins, Mountain City, Tennessee. One sister, Fausteen Saunders, Boone, N.C. two brothers, Boyd Lipford, Mountain City, Tennessee and Buford Lipford, Mountain City, Tennessee. Six step grandchildren, four step great grand children, Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Dagle Lipford will be held on Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. David Bentley, Rev Bruce Simcox, and Rev Lonnie Denny officiating. Graveside services and Military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday from Lipford Cemetery accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm from the Funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Jim Fink Cot Dunn, Keith Johnson, Gary Johnson, Joe Hux, Jeff Reece, Michael Bumgardner, and Matt Lipford. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Bill Moore, Ray Adams, Darris Forrester, W.F. Blevins, Earl Davis, Reford McQueen, Kermit Morley, Jim Spencer, James Isley, Associates at T.D.O.T.
