Dana R. Howard, age 69, of 6708 Hwy 91 North, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. He was born on February 17, 1937 to the late Fred and Pearl Stout Howard. In addition to his parents, Dana was preceded in death by two brothers: Bruce Howard and Ottis Howard. He was a retired carpenter. Dana was a 32 Degree Master Mason with the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge #243 F&AM and was also Scottish Rite. He was a United States Army Veteran. Dana is survived by his wife, Barbara Shelton Howard, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sherry and David Faulkner of Newland, N.C., Carol and Jessie Stapleton of Hudson, N.C. and Donna and Richard Crotts of Laurel Bloomery, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Brenda Howard of Mountain City, TN and Kevin and Amanda Howard of Butler, TN; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Dana R. Howard will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2006 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Stapleton and Rev. Danny Honeycutt to officiate. Music will be under the direction of The Fellowship Quartet. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the Services, at the funeral home. Military Honors and Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006 from the Sunset Mausoleum of Love and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Active Pallbearers will be: Gabriel Faulkner, Samuel Faulkner, Jacob Stapleton, Caleb Howard, Daniel Faulkner, Jessie Stapleton, Richard Crotts and David Faulkner. Honorary Pallbearers are: J.C. Shelton, John Shelton, Jack Shelton, James Shelton, Sam Taylor, JT Howard, Mike Howard, Dr. Timothy Zajonce and Dr. Phillip Jones.
