Dana Carroll Phillips

Dana Carroll Phillips, age 68, of 202 Reece Ave , Mountain City , Tennessee passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on May 9, 1943 to the late Ray Luther Phillips and Cora Elizabeth Profitt Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Marie Phillips, also by a son Billy Carroll Phillips, brothers J.C. Brown and James and Ralph Phillips and sisters Jane Campbell and Dorothy Potter. He was a member of the Sink Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include: Two sons, Mike Phillips and wife Kathy of Fountain Inn, SC. and Gary Phillips and wife Sarah of Mountain City, TN. Two Sisters, Maudean Inman, Bedford IN. and Bertha Roark, Bluff City , TN. One brother, Darrell Phillips of Elizabethton , TN. Two grandchildren, Gary Phillips and Andrew Phillips, several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends, Dorcey Fletcher, Kimberly Epperly and Flo Bellamy. Funeral Services for Dana Carroll Phillips will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 from the East Side Memory Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home, with Rev. Harvey White officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and burial will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Phillips Cemetery . Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amedisys Home Health Care, Sandra Pleasant, Dorcsey Fletcher, Gary Phillips Jr. and Andrew Phillips. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Johnson County Cancer Support Group, in care of Ms. Flo Bellamy at 214 College St., Mountain City, TN 37683.
