Danny Garland

Danny Garland, age 65, of Mountain City, TN, formerly of Burnsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of Guy Garland of Bakersville and the late Betty Greene Garland. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Lynn Garland. Danny was a member of First Apostolic Church in Mountain City, TN. He never met a stranger. Danny loved trucking, going to church and visiting people. Surviving is his wife, Brenda Stout Garland; daughters: Amanda Greene and husband, Brian, of Bakersville, and Lynn McCarty and husband, Will, of Deep Gap; sister, Patricia Doan of Bakersville; twin sister, Deborah Styles and husband, Alden, of Burnsville; brother, Donnie Garland and wife, Dena, of Spruce Pine; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special dog, Joy, also survive. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 11th in the Fork Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery located at 3648 Fork Mountain Road, Bakersville, NC 28705. Rev. Tracy Newman and Rev. G. B. Garland will officiate.
