Danny Rhymer, age 52, of 2545 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2005 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, he was born on January 25, 1953 to the late J.D. and Lizzie Rhymer. Danny was a graduate of Johnson County High School. He was Manager of Freeman Gas of Mountain City, Tennessee. Danny was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, choir director and assistant Sunday School Teacher. He loved antiques. Danny is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley Martin Rhymer, of the home; one son, Steve Rhymer and fianc Kellena Ward; one sister, Patricia "Pip" Mains and one brother, Eddie Rhymer and wife Madeline, all of Mountain City, Tn. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. Funeral Services for Danny will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Johnson and Rev. Leon Bryant to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Vaughts Gap Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 from the Sunset Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Kim Brown, Raymond Cress, Jim McCulloch, Tim Poteet, Anna Reece, Aaron Simcox, Tony Swift, Wily Thomas and Tony Yoggerst. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of the Vaughts Gap Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., prior to Services Saturday, at the Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 2545 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.hux-tetrick.com.
