Daphne Willia Jennings Goodman, more affectionately known as “Duck” age, 58 of Laurel Springs passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at her home. She was born on February 9, 1968 in Westchester, PA to Earnest Ralph and Willia Gray Furches Jennings. She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Richard Alan Goodman and a granddaughter, Lydia Goodman.

Daphne will be remembered for the love she shared, the memories she created, and the simple joys that made life special. She had a deep love for her grandchildren, who brought her so much happiness and held a very special place in her heart. The time she spent with them was among life’s most precious gifts, and the love she gave them will continue to live on through generations.

She found joy in life’s little adventures, whether it was walking along the beach searching for seashells, listening to her favorite rock and roll music, or enjoying a peaceful drive through the beautiful mountains. She especially loved taking drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway, where the breathtaking views and winding roads offered a chance to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Duck’s life was filled with moments that may have seemed simple but were truly meaningful: time with family, the discovery of a beautiful seashell, a favorite song playing, or the peaceful scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains. These are the moments her loved ones will hold close as they remember her.

Mrs. Goodman is survived by three sons, Joe Goodman (Roxanne) of Raleigh, Austin Goodman (Makala) of Laurel Springs and Donnie Cardwell of Elizabethton, TN, two daughters, Alycia Richardson of Grassy Creek and Amy Paisley (Eli) of Mountain City, TN, her mother, Willia Jennings of Mountain City, TN, one brother, Randy Jennings (Holly) of Mountain City, TN, three sisters, Wilma Bryant, Kim Combs (Kenneth) and Cindy Price (Jeff) all of Mountain City, TN. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Lupin Goodman, Evan Bledsoe, Connor Richardson, Maddison Richardson, Leo Goodman, Jayden Cardwell, Railey Cardwell, Addie Nevaeh Cardwell, Hunter Paisley, Lakaya Paisley and Salem Roark as well as several nieces and nephews.

Though she will be deeply missed, Daphne’s love will remain in the hearts of her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
