Daris Jenkins Snyder

Daris Jenkins Snyder, age 66, of 1546 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, TN, passed away Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Watauga Medical Center, Boone, NC following an extended illness. She was a native of Welch, WV, and was born January 17, 1939 to the late Emory Claude and Hazel Harper Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Icenhour and a brother-in-law, Earnest Icenhour. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved to read and work puzzles. She is survived by several uncles and aunts; one nephew Billy Ray Icenhour of Mountain City and three nieces: Belinda Johnson of Mountain City, Hazel South and Daris Icenhour Gibson both of Nottingham, Pa. Special friend; Hilda Simcox of Mountain City. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Henson Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Norman and Rev. Frank Johnson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Rev. James Norman. Burial will be in the Phillippi Cemetery following services. Pallbearers will be: James South, Lloyd Johnson, Chad Icenhour, Bobby Johnson, Timothy Icenhour Jr, and Tony Simcox. Honorary Pallbearers will be: M. D. Simcox, Harvey Brown, Tom Icenhour, Desi Ward, Paul Barr, Dr. Robert Griffith and staff of Watauga Medical Center, Boone, NC. Henson Funeral Home is serving the Snyder family.
