David R. Branch

Mr. David R. Branch, age 59, of 1703 Campbell Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of Hazel Branch and the late William Branch. David was a member of JCHS Class of 1970. He loved fishing, gardening and working at Maymead and attended Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Wayne Branch, Franklin Dean Elliot and Bobbi Bill Elliot. Survivors include: his wife, Clarice L. Branch, of the home; his mother Hazel Branch of Butler, TN; two sons: Ray Branch and wife Diana and William Branch and wife Sandy; one daughter: Melissa Stout and husband Danny; one stepson: Lee Dickens and wife Bobbie; five sisters: Nancy Guinn and husband Hearley; Barbara Campbell and husband Earl; Shirley Wagner, all of Mountain City, TN; Brenda Stout and husband Wayne; and Lola Arnold, both of Butler, TN; one brother: Blaine Branch of Butler, TN. Nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for David R. Branch will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from the Eastside Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Derl McCloud and Rev. Ray Branch officiating. Song will be by Etta "Tootsie" Roberts. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be Jewel Williams, Larry Woods, D. L. Brown, Rick Garr, Wayne Johnson and Michael Gentry. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Maymead. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 in Rock Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Humane Society, 919 Pine Orchard Road, Butler, TN 37640. At other times friends may call at the residence, 1703 Campbell Road, Mountain City, TN.
