David Carl Taylor, age 68, of 1091 Deer Run Road, Mountain City, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2003 at the VA Medical Center, in Mountain Home after a brief illness. Mr. Taylor was a native of Johnson County and was born to the late Fred Jackson and Vergie Pennington Taylor on November 27, 1934. He graduated in 1951 from Johnson County High School, and worked as a farmer. Mr. Taylor was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, adult teacher, and treasurer. Survivors: Wife: Rebecca Ann Taylor, of the home; (2) Sons: Mark Taylor and wife, Karen, Mountain City, TN; David M. Taylor, Laurel Bloomery; (3) Sisters: Jean Eldreth and husband, Wade, Kingsport, TN; Carolyn Norris and husband, Jimmy, Mountain City, TN; Shirley Campbell and husband, Benny, Mountain City, TN; (2) Brothers: Wayne Taylor, Mountain City, TN; Earl Taylor and wife, Betty, Fayetteville, NC; (4) Granddaughters: Bridgette Taylor, Johnson City, TN; Sonja Taylor, Johnson City, TN; Leah Taylor, Johnson City, TN; Rebecca Taylor, Laurel Bloomery, TN; (1) Grandson: Matthew Taylor, Laurel Bloomery, TN; (1) Great Grandchild: Cameryn Taylor, Laurel Bloomery, TN; Several Nieces and Nephews. Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. A memorial service for David Carl Taylor will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 26, 2003 at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Steve McCready to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 26, 2003 at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
