David Lamar Ward

Born on November 24, 2000 in Johnson City, TN, David Lamar Ward entered the world with a set of challenges that would shape, but never define his life. From the outset, he demonstrated an extraordinary resilience, facing life with a sense of determination and positivity that was both inspiring and humbling. We are saddened to announce, David passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024.

David was a strong young man that faced his challenges with courage because of the example he saw in his mother. Victoria was a devoted mother that provided round the clock care for David for many years, never wavering in her faith in Jesus to give her strength. She would read the Bible to David to calm his fears and her own and God always provided for them and has now made David whole with a new body in Heaven where David can run and jump and be free from the suffering he faced in this life. Thank you, David for the lessons you taught us, for the joy you brought into our lives and for the privilege of knowing and loving you. Your spirit will continue to inspire us and your memory will always be a beacon of hope and love in our hearts.

David enjoyed listening to gospel programs, watching TV, Cars, trains, country music and being outdoors.

David was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Scott Ward.

In addition to his mother Victoria, those left to cherish his memory include his stepfather Valentin Garcia and his sister Katerlin Garcia of the
home; special friends Melissa Sutherland, Barbara Hathaway, Summar Eller, Torainna Hensley, Kim Kleine, Torie Poteet, Jodi Baker Allen, Tonya Hughes, Tammy Pierce, Stacey Peake Diane Pavusek and Sandi Aguilar.

Funeral services for David will be held Tuesday June 4th , 2024 at 3 pm at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Morefield officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Johnny Crowder. The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Dyson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zach Peake, Matty Peake, Jesse Poteet and Stacy Peake.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Kim Kleine for many years of loving care that she provided to David and also to Rebecca, RN with Gentiva Hospice for her care and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Hux & Lipford Funeral Home to assist the family with the services.
