David Michael Whisman of 1753 Gentry's Creek Road passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1948 to the late Larry Whisman and Donna Beaty Whisman. He attended St. Johns Methodist Church. He enjoyed cars and playing Bingo. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion as well as a 32nd Degree Mason from the Taylorsville Masonic Lodge. He was also in the United States Navy and the National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Terry Warden. Survivors include: one son; Davey Whisman of the home, niece; Amy Corum and two nephews; Jay and Matthew Warden. There will be a celebration of life to honor David, Friday, August 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Charlie B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Bowers and Rev. Tom Prater officiating with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. The family will recieve friends from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Phipps, Andrew Crowder, Matthew Warden, Jay Warden, Friends at the NECC, and his Bingo family.
