Della Crowe

Della Crowe, age 80, formerly of Mountain City, passed away Thursday, January 13,2005 at the Cambridge House in Bristol, TN. She was a native of Johnson County and was born October 4, 1924 to the late James and Lura Mains Reece. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Ray Crowe. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Kermit Reece, Carl Reece and Walt Reece. Della was a state federal worker with the Department of Unemployment Security in the State of TN, and worked in Washington D.C. during World War II in the Rations Department. She was a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons: Dr. L. Ray Crowe and wife Inez of Cookville, TN and James Crowe and wife Rebecca of Bristol, TN; two sisters: Arna Mae Hodges of Mountain City and Beulah Oliver of Creston, N. C.; two brothers: Robert Reece and Bill Reece of Mountain City. Three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P. M. Sunday, January 16 2005 from Henson Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ronda Reece, Roddie Reece, Tommy Reece, Mike Reece, James Reece, Rick Reece, John Reece, Larry Reece, Gary Reece, Shane Reece and Lane Reece. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordan Hodges and Jimmy Oliver. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P. M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the services.
