Delta Lorraine Ashley Greer

Delta Lorraine Ashley Greer, age 80, of Deer Run Road, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee passed away November 05, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Green Cove, Virginia, Delta was born May 12, 1923 to the late Wiley James and Munerva Catherine Blevins Greer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stacy R. Greer who passed away in 1966, one sister and eight brothers. She enjoyed antiques and was a member of the Green Cove Baptist Church. Delta is survived by three daughters; Linda D. Faulkner of Longwood, Florida, Vicky L. Taylor and Deborah C. Cornett both of Mountain City, Tennessee, four sons; Morris L. Bury of Bristol, Tennessee, Russell M. Bury of Augusta, Georgia, Tony R. Greer of Dillsboro, Indiana and Kim D. Greer of Mountain City, Tennessee, one sister; Mildred Parker of Glade Springs, Virginia, fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Delta Lorraine Ashley Greer will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 07, 2003 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Denny to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Nelson's Chapel Church Choir. Family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. prior to services. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 08, 2003 from the State Line Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Stacy Greer, Michael Chatterton, Daniel Greer, Lee Cornett, Justin Cornett, Cory Roach, Bobby Faulkner and Aaron Roach. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends may also call at the residence anytime.
