Denise Jane Greer

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Denise Jane Greer, who went to be with the Lord, and our Father, in Heaven on the morning of Sunday, December 8th, 2024. Denise was born on October 22, 1966 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Ralph Miller and Linda Jackson Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Woodrow Wilson “Icky” Jackson Jr. and Elsie Mach Jackson and her paternal grandparents Copher Miller and Ruth “Bufie” Miller.

Denise was a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Public Health from East Tennessee State University, with more than 30 years of extensive experience and a focused specialty in epidemiology. She was a devout follower and child of the most High God. She loved reading the Holy Bible, being outdoors, boat riding, fishing, walking, gardening, stargazing, spending time with the family’s cats, especially Sneaky, and spending time with her husband and her two sons.

Those left to cherish the precious memory of Denise include her beloved lifelong husband of 35 years, and childhood sweetheart of 44 years, John Greer; two sons, Brandon Greer and Bradley Greer, both of Butler, Tennessee; two sisters, Michele Fouad (Eric) of Marietta, Georgia and Dianne Ramey (Danny) of Gray, TN; Nieces Brianna Fouad Gilliam (Michael) and Emily Ramey Shumate (Ryan); Nephew Jacob Ramey; and Special Friends Brittney Phillips (Fiancé of Brandon Greer, and Best Friend), Leonora Browne, Debbie “Granny” Collier, Rose Cable, and other friends.

Denise’s funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 13th, 2024 in the Charles B. Hux Chapel at Hux &  Lipford Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. with Dean Visser officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour, to which all are invited. She will be laid to rest in the Lewis Cemetery on Pine Mountain with a private interment service attended by the family.
