Wade enjoyed drawing, painting, and doing needlework. Wade was an excellent student all through school and excelled in math. He especially enjoyed playing chess when he could find someone willing to play against him.
Survivors include his step-mother, Kathryn Slemp, his daughter, Amber Greenwood, and husband Chris, of Cookeville, TN, a sister, Lori Potter, and husband Mike, of Watauga, TN, a brother, Michael Slemp, and wife Melissa, of Butler, TN, three grandchildren, Eliza, Ruby, and Livie Greenwood, several nieces and nephews, and his Uncle Jack Slimp who was so good come check on him.
The family would like to express their gratitude and heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Mountain City Care Center for taking such good care of Wade for the last 20 years. Your love and compassion did not go unnoticed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 12pm – 1pm in the Charlie B. Hux Memorial Chapel at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. Following visitation, we will go in procession for graveside services at Butler Memorial Cemetery, Butler, TN.
