Derek Chambers, beloved father, husband and friend left this life on October 28, 2025 and crossed the rainbow bridge to be with those loved ones who have gone before him. He wsa born August 30, 1950 to the late Cecil Chambers and Janegee Price Chambers.
Derek served his country with honor in the Marines, being a part of the 50th Engineers Battalion in Vietnam, and was also with the 1/9. Later, he continued his service in the US Army, attaining the rank of E-6.
In his life, Derek found great joy in participating in international shooting matches, an activity that showcased his dedication and skill.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Tyler Chambers, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years. He leaves behind two daughters, Shannon Doyle and Francesca Bilyard, as well as three sons, Gregory Chambers, Derek Shawn Chambers, and Eric Benjamin Chambers. Derek also is survived by his sister, Carmelita Rose of Forrest Virginia, and one brother. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Derek will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and especially his special nephew, Randall (Randy) Hall.
It was Derek's wishes to be cremated and no formal services held.
