Obituary for Dessie Simcox Taylor: Dessie Simcox. Taylor, age 95, formerly of 3025 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 at Mountain City Care Center. She was born in Shouns, TN., May 28, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Tilman Emerson and Cora Payne Simcox. She was employed by the Johnson County School System as a teacher at Greenwood School in 1947, Curd School in 1948, a substitute teacher at Laurel Springs, Curd and Forge Creek Schools. She was the cafeteria manager at Forge Creek School for 10 years, Mountain City Elementary for 13 years until her retirement in 1978. Dessie was an avid gardener and an accomplished seamstress. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Wade Watson Taylor, daughter Evelyn Taylor Wilfong, son in-law Jack L. Wilfong Sr. , brothers Roscoe, Dana and Selmer Simcox and a sister Lora Hammons. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law Carroll W. and Kathleen Taylor of Annandale, VA, grandson Jack L. Wilfong Jr. and wife Robbin of Winchester, VA, three granddaughters, Nancy W. Hayes and husband Chip of Burke, VA, Karen Taylor Hearin and husband Joe of Fairfax, VA, and Sharon Taylor Dietze and husband Ralph of Leesburg, VA, 10 great grandchildren, Albert M. Hayes IV, Adam L. Wilfong, Sam T. Wilfong, Thomas T. Hearin, Elijah D. Hearin, Courtney N. Dietze, Caitlin T. Dietze, Brynne K. Dietze, and Alison V. Dietze, two great grandsons, Ezekiel Wilfong and Albert M. Hayes V, one sister Ida Brown of Mountain City and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Albert M. Hayes IV, Adam L. Wilfong, Sam T. Wilfong, Patrick W. Wilfong, Thomas Hearin, Elijah Hearin, Courtney N. Dietze, Caitlin T. Dietze, Brynne K. Deitze, and Alison V. Deitze. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. John Whitlock, Paul Hammons, Elmer Hammons, Tom Taylor, Buster Brown, Bill Brown, Eric Taylor, Sam Taylor, Ezekiel Wilfong, and Albert M. Hayes V. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at the Hammons Chapel Christian Church on Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in the Sunset Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. To 8:00p.m.Friday, November 19th, 2010 in the Charles B.
