Diana Cress Horne, age 57, of 360 Corner Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2004 following an automobile accident. A native of Johnson County, she was born June 12, 1946 to the late S.T. Bob Cress, who passed away in 2002 and to Lacie Payne Cress. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Bud Horne, who passed away in 2002. Diana was a 1964 Graduate of Johnson County High School and a former employee of Levi Strauss & Company/Leco, where she was employed for over 35 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Diana is survived by one daughter, Angela Winters and husband Jamie; her mother, Lacie Payne Cress; two sisters, Joyce Canter and husband Russ and Bobbie Phillippi; one brother Donnie Cress; two very special grandsons, Josh and Christopher; one niece Trish Main and two great nieces, Vanessa and Shannon Main and a very special Uncle, Clyde Cress, all of Mountain City. Funeral Services for Diana will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2004 from the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Jerry Horne. Entombment Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2004 from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. Active Pallbearers will be Jerry Horne, Terry Matheson, Larry Miller, Sonny Gambill, Jesse Eller, Dan Osborne, Gary Horne and Michael Leonard. Honorary Pallbearers are: Rev. Dwight Adams, Russ Canter, Clarence Fenner, Tommy Payne, Tommy Horne and Jamie Winters. The Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Church, prior to Services. At other times, friends may call at the residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson County Caner Support Group, c/o Flo Bellamy, 3510 Highway 421 N., Mountain City, Tennessee. Family and Friends are asked to assemble at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Mausoleum for Services. A special thanks to all the staff of the Select Specialty Hospital-5th Floor; especially to Kitty, Angie, Erick and Sarah and all of the Respitory Specialist, RN's, LPN's and Tech's.
