Don Fletcher, age 80, of 919 Medical Park Drive, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2006. He was born in Butler, Tennessee on July 17, 1926 to the late James Thomas Fletcher and Sarah Jane (Lowe) Fletcher. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Matilda O'Neal; one sister, Gertie Younce and four brothers: Gurd Fletcher, Landon Fletcher, Wan Fletcher and James "Dallas: Fletcher. He was a former employee of Burlington Industries and was of the Baptist faith. Don loved to 'whittle' wood. Don is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Peggy and James "Jim" Johnson of Tampa, Florida; one son, Donald C. "Donnie" Fletcher of Mountain City, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Jamie Renee Johnson Allen and husband Chad and Gregory Price; two great grandchildren: Kristie Corrie Sherrney Price and Zackery James Price; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Robert Haizlit and Larry Yates and many, many more special friends and neighbors. Funeral Services for Don Fletcher will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2006 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Lesley Shields and Rev. Charles Younce Jr. to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006 from the Fletcher Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Roy Hodges, Robert Haizlit, Larry Yates, Carroll Younce, Greg Manian and Jimmy Fletcher. Honorary Pallbearers are: N.J. Walker, Ronald Roark, Jack Jenkins, James T. Johnson, Jess Wagner, Gary Hatley, Michael Hatley and Staff and Nurses of Mountain City Care Center. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the Services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local Hospice or American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601-1723. At other times, friends may call at home of Jack and Betty Jenkins, 483 Hospital Road, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
