Don E Manuel

Don E. Manuel, age 77, passed away on November 27th, 2019. Don was born December 28, 1941 in Shady Valley, Tennessee to the late Ira Lee Manuel and Effie Diane Blevins Manuel. Don is preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Rutter Manuel and beloved daughter Deborah Manuel Reeves as well as two brothers, Bill Manuel and Louis Ray Manuel, and a sister Ima Lee Cretsinger. He was a member of the Church of Christ, he loved traveling and the outdoors Fishing, Hunting, especially fly fishing and was a member of the Doe Valley Sportsman Association.   He was a member of the JCHS class of 1960.   Those left to cherish Don's memory include: Wife Jenny Manuel of the home. Sons; Edmond of Mountain City, and Michael of Elizabethton, TN. Sisters; Veralene Gentry of Shady Valley, and Lois Fletcher of Shady Valley. Brother; Dan Manuel of Shady Valley, Jerry Manuel of Lebanon, VA. Son-in-law; Eric Reeves, Elizabethton, Tennessee. Five Grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends Earl Atwood, Bill Woodard, and Tyler Fleming. Pallbearers:  Earl Atwood, Doran Swift, Coleman Brown, Michael Grayson, Houze Cretsinger, Jerry Hicks, Ralph Matheson, Mike Skewes and Tommy Fletcher Honorary Pallbearers:  Bill Woodard, Shelton Sheppard, Walter Reece, Tom Giamarro, Dick Johnson, Darrell Patterson, Peanut Swift, Vance Gentry, Jody Colwin Funeral Service for Don will be conducted on Sunday December 1, 2019 in the East Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home at 3 pm. Richard Stout, Darrell Broking, Bubba Cannon and David Irick will officiate. Burial services in the Blevins Cemetery will be private.   A special thanks to Crandall Church of Christ for all the nice cards and letters of encouragement over the past many months and to the Grayson and Bass families.
