Donald Emery Faulkner, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 29, 1949, to the late Donald McKnight and Theadora Mitchell Faulkner.


Donald proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1976, attaining the rank of Corporal (E-4). During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS Albany, a guided missile cruiser, and was honorably discharged. Following his military service, Donald went on to have a dedicated career as a Bridge and Highway Inspector with the Florida Department of Transportation, from which he retired. He was a man of strong faith and service, holding membership at First Christian Church. Donald also served his community as Commander of the Johnson County Honor Guard and as Chaplain of Mountain City Post 61. In his leisure time, he enjoyed attending car shows, showing off his Dodge Challenger-his pride and joy and had a passion for model ships and airplanes. His favorite movies included, History movies depicting wars and US involvement, The Good Bad and Ugly and Easy Rider. Yellowstone, NCIS, Fox News and Ridiculous topped as his favorite TV shows. Don’s great uncle was William Faulkner, a southern US Author.


Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Katherine Lynn Furr-Faulkner; stepdaughters, Rachel Stevans Bentley and Jackie Wedge Plye; son, Timothy Aaron Faulkner; honorary son, Isaiah McDavid; sister, Wendy Faulkner; grandchildren, Ryder Stevans, Rissa Stevans, Kaden Wedge, Camden Wedge, Cameron Wedge, and Kinley Wedge; and sons-in-law, Josh Bentley, Skylar Plye, Ray Stevans, and Chris Wedge. He is also survived by many special friends, including members of the Johnson County Honor Guard, members of American Legion Post 61, and members of First Christian Church, as well as John Cobb, Patty Young, David Stout, John Wayne, Pastor Dwayne Dickson and wife Beth, Deborah Keen Doolin, Dick and Nellie Dion, Pastor David Bentley and wife Anita, Jeff and Angie Nelson, Mark and Pam Billingsley and family, Mary Nave, John Capolupo, Bryan Sommers, Dr. Joe Ray, Anne and Nicole Rhymer, Randy Dandurand, Elaine Greer, and Dan Lipford and wife Ann, June Eller, and Freddie and Diana Forrester.


Donald will be remembered for his service to his country, his devotion to his faith, and his deep love for his family and community.


A funeral service for Donald will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Dickson and Pastor David Bentley to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.

Military honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
