Donald E. Wilson, age 83, of 190 Gentry Creek Road, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday morning, February 3, 2007 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born October 6, 1923 to the late Hamilton and Myrtle Warden Wilson. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Toni Mink Wilson; and one son, Donald D. Wilson. He was retired from UAW Chrysler Corporation. Donald enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing. He was a member of St. Johns Methodist Church and had also attended Clinton Presbyterian Church. Donald was a United States Navy World War II Veteran. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Dana G. Russell of New Castle, Delaware; one brother, Richard Wilson of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; special aunt, Ruth Warden and her son David Warden; two grandchildren: Adam Link of Dover, Delaware and Kendra Russell of New Castle, Delaware; two nieces: one cousin, Kitty Yelton of Mountain City, Tennessee; special friends and caregivers: Michelle Atwood, Dave and Cara Minks, Valarie Wilcox, Nancy Perkins, Brenda Owens and Jim and Patty Swoager. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2007 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Swoager to officiate. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are: Paul Blevins, Richard Hawkins, Sam Taylor, Dave Warden and Jeff Wilcox. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's memory to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
