Dora L Eggers

Dora L. Eggers, age 88, of 989 Eggers Branch Road, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Mountain City Care Center. She was the daughter of Roby Reece and Callie Miller Reece. Ms. Eggers was a member of Mountain City Church of Christ and retired from TRW in Boone, North Carolina. Her hobby was crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eggers; three sons: infant son Jimmy Eggers, Claude Eggers and Lloyd Eggers; four brothers: Martin Reece, Hill Reece, Paul Reece, and Ray Reece; six sisters: Blanche McGlamery, Hester Eggers, Virgie May, Rena Greene, Eddie Wagner, and Dellie Reece.

Survivors include: one son, Bob Eggers and wife Genevia of Mountain City, Tennessee; one brother, Roby Reece, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Reisterstown, Maryland; two granddaughters: Donna Manuel and Joni Wilcox; six grandsons: Gary Eggers, Larry Eggers, Steve Eggers, Jimmy Eggers, Timmy Eggers and Michael Eggers; sixteen great grandchildren; one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews; special friends: Lois Wills, Melissa McCullah, Audrey, Dr. Whitlock and Watauga Medical Center and staff of Mountain City Care Center; and friends: Linda Eggers, Ann Eggers, Faye Eggers and Patsy Eggers.

Funeral services for Dora L. Eggers will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Hutchinson and Mr. Ronnie Manuel officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ronnie Manuel. Entombment service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gary Eggers, Larry Eggers, Michael Eggers, Steve Eggers, Timmy Eggers, Matt Eggers, Jason Eggers, and Jamie Eggers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Whitlock, Clifton Worley, Joe Guinn, Mike McKinney, Kenny Icenhour, Mike Cupeto, and Staff of Mountain City Care Center.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home prior to the services.

At other times, friends may call at the residence of her grandson, Michael Eggers, 561 Adams Road, Mountain City, Tennessee.
