Dorothy Fay "Flo" Mains

Dorothy Faye "Flo" Mains, age 81, of 237 Eller Road, Mountain City, TN passed away November 13, 2013 at the home of her daughter. She was born April 10, 1932 to the late Jonathan Canter and Fannie Bryant Canter. Flo was of the Baptist faith. Her hobbies included working in flowers, gardening, Longhorn football, horse racing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands William McFadden and Ralph Mains; four brothers: George Bryant, Junior Canter, Stacy Canter and Millard Canter; three sisters: Coralee McFadden, Hattie Snyder and Grace Wilson; granddaughters: Brenda Sloan and Dorothy McFadden; daughter: Rose Ann Canter; son-in-law: David Reece; and daughter-in-law: Barbara McFadden. Survivors include: three daughters: Wilma Carpenter and husband Ronald, of Hartwell, GA; Peggy Reece of Mountain City, TN and Patricia Greer of Oxford, PA; five sons: Bill McFadden and wife Kathy and Kenneth Mains and wife Sharon, all of Mountain City, TN; Buck McFadden and wife Bobbie; Bobby Mains and wife Sylvia of West Grove, PA and Billy Mains and wife Alice of Colora, MD; one sister: Pauline Reedy or Mountain City, TN; thirty grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends Camilla Osborne and Tootsie Wilson. Funeral services for Ms. Mains will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Peake officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Timmy Mains, Nick McFadden, Brian Carpenter, Ronnie Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Javier Michua,Tyrone McFadden and Chico Gardner. Friends and family are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. At other times friends may visit at the home of her daughter, Peggy Reece, 456 West Holy Hill Road, Mountain City, TN.
