Dorothy Mae Walker Swiney

Dorothy Mae Walker Swiney, age 78, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 in Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. She was the daughter of the late Walter Brownlow Walker and Lissie Arnold Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Swiney, three sisters and five brothers. Dorothy loved puzzle books and reading her Bible. Survivors include: three daughters: Anita Swiney, Melissa Swiney, Tammy Swiney Hernandez and husband Michael, all of Elizabethton, TN; two sons: Jerry Swiney of Ephrata, PA and Ronnie Swiney of Lansing, NC; two sisters: Stella Walker of Kingsport, TN and Zella Wilson of Elizabethton, TN; seventeen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Elizabeth Lennar, Vee Rhymer, Geraldine and Andy Swiney also survive. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
