Dorothy May Vanover-Hess

Dorothy May Vanover Hess, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at h er home. She was the daughter of the late Arie and Hattie Vanover. Mrs. Hess was a member of Glade Hills Church of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Warren Hess; sons, Charles Thompson and wife Teresa of Butler, TN, and William Rush of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Treva Michaels and husband Roy of Coeburn, VA, and Margaret Hampton and husband Sam of Coeburn, VA; three grandchildren, Roy Thompson and fiancé Brianna Widner, Annah Thompson, and Melinda Turner; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Jaxon Turner; several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 12-1:30 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. James Walls officiating. Pallbearers will be Ray Thompson, Brandon Stanton, Ronnie McDaniel, William Rush, Daniel Beavers, and David Vanover. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Hampton, Bob Vanover, and Charles Thompson.
