Mrs. Dorothy Leigh Vaught Wills, age 79, of 1050 Lumpkins Branch Road, Mountain City TN, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Although she was a native of Kennett Square, PA, she had made her home for most of her life in Johnson County, Tennessee. She was born on September 30, 1927 to the late Robert Vaught and Ann McQueen Vaught Mrs. Wills was a 1944 graduate of Johnson County High School where she was a member of the "Hungry Six" and a former employee of Johnson County School System. She was also a member of the Roan Creek Baptist Church. Dorothy liked to grow a garden, canning, and cooking. She loved to have her family around her and she had a way of making everyone feel special. She was an encourager, a comforter, a good listener, and a friend to all and she will be sadly missed. In addition to her mother and her father, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, whom was her high school sweetheart, John Ward Wills; one brother, James Robert Vaught; and one sister, Phyllis Neibeling. Survivors include one son, Skip Wills and wife Margaret of Mountain City, TN; one daughter, Deborah (Debby) Wills Miller and husband Roger, of Piney Flats, TN; one granddaughter Erin Wills Sandstrom and husband Emil of Galax, VA; one sister, Ms. Betty Stout and husband John of Mountain City, TN; a special niece, Suzanne Stout Jones of Kernersville, NC; and a special friend to the family, Mary Gale of Mountain City, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Leigh Vaught Wills will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 from Shouns United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 19, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm prior to the funeral services from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Tommy Worley, Steve Arnold, Randy Pardue, Danny Pardue, Jeff Wagner, and Larry Wilson. Friends may also call at the home of Skip and Margaret Wills, 1128 Lumpkins Branch Road, Mountain City, TN, or at the home of Deborah and Roger Miller, 748 Pickens Bridge Road, Piney Flats, TN.
