Doug Eastridge, age 47, of 105 Tobacco Road, Mountain City went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 2, 2003 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native of Boone, North Carolina, but had made his home in Johnson County all his life. He was born October 19, 1955 to Lois Wallce Eastridge Greer and the late Asa Ferd Eastridge. He was a wonderful and faithful loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a meatcutter for 18 years at Harris Teeter, enjoyed golfing and mopar cars. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother: Wife of 26 years, Daris Brown Eastridge, of the home Stepfather: Ralph Greer (1) Daughter: Tonya and husband, Michael Hernandez, Mountain City, Tennessee (1) Son: Brad Eastridge, Mountain City, Tennessee (1) Brother: Harold Eastridge and wife Janette, Mountain City, Tennessee (1) Stepbrother: Eddie Greer and wife Robin, Delaware (1) Grandchild: Jesse Hernandez, Mountain City, Tennessee Father and Mother-in-law: John and Myrtle Brown, Mountain City, Tennessee Two Nieces and two nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home in charge of the Arrangements. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at First Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at First Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.. Pallbearers will be: Brad Eastridge, Michael Hernandez, James Brown, Harold Eastridge, Tony Rhudy, Jessie Rhudy, Charles Crosswhite, Gregg Capp and Christopher Brown Honorary Pallbearers will be: John Brown, Dr. John Whitlock, Dr. Jeffery Critlenden, Ralph Greer, Eddie Greer, Elliot Greer, Carter Issacs, Chuck Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Randy Weaver, Earl Greer, Dennis Stout, Members of the Johnson County Rescue Squad and special friends in Asheville, NC.
