Doug Stidham

Rev. Doug Stidham, age 75, of 300 Furnace Creek Road, Lot 8, Mountain City, TN passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1939 in Wise County, VA to the late William and Margaret Bentley Stidham. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Stidham, a granddaughter, Brandy Stidham brothers, Frank and Roy Stidham, sisters, Belvia Galloway, Blanch Murray, Connie Akers, and Angie Durham. Doug was a meat supervisor for Food Country for many years. He was also an associate at Hux-Lipford and Johnson County Funeral Homes for several years. Doug was the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church from September 1991 until September 2014.He enjoyed Reading his Bible and Helping others. Survivors include: his wife of 57 years Ann Stidham of the home; one daughter, Teresa Blevins, Johnson City, TN; one son, Jeffery and wife,Sandy Stidham, Mountain City, TN; one sister, Eula Arnold, Kingsport, TN; two brothers, Randy Stidham, Indianapolis, In and Bobby Stidham, Jonesville Virginia; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Several very special friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tom Reece and Mr. Daniel Jones to officiate . The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service will be on 1:00 p.m.Friday, February 27, 2015 from Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Johnny Denton, Dave Hubert, Steve Brown.
