Douglas J. Church

Douglas J. Church, age 64, of Butler, Tennessee passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Johnson County Community Hospital. Douglas was the son of the late Herb Church and Flora Olive Hall Church. He was member of First Baptist Church in Mountain City and his hobby was farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Nellie Pealier, Connie Osborne and Belle Church; and four brothers: Ronnie Church, Glen Church, Ed Church, and Junior Church. Survivors include: his wife, Cassie Williams Church; three daughters: Linda Burrow and husband Jeff of Kingsport, Tennessee, Nikki McQueen of Mountain City, Tennessee and Tammy Morefield and husband Brian of Butler, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Jerri Williams of Butler, Tennessee; one step-son, Rudy Phipps and wife Junie of Mountain City, Tennessee; two sisters: Ethel Tolley of Johnson City, Tennessee and Cledeth Perkins and husband Eddie of Mountain City, Tennessee; two brothers: Walt Church and wife Sharon of Butler, Tennessee and A.G. Church and wife Joyce of Johnson City, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; special friends: Dave Hampton and Boyd Peterson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Douglas J. Church will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Woods officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Burrow, Brian Morefield, Dave Hampton, Rudy Phipps, Austin Morefield and Ryan Burrow. Graveside and interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. prior to the services.
