Douglas G. Warden, age 64, of 230 Bertie Morefield Lane, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tennessee, following an extended illness. A native of Laurel Bloomery, he was born June 29, 1939 to the late Luther and Clara Wyatt Warden. He was a 1958 Graduate of Johnson County High School and attended King College. Douglas was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 61 and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife; Jackie McCloud Warden of the home, two daughters; Alanna Warden and Amanda Warden, two sons; Cody Warden and Horace Warden, all of the home, one sister; Sharon Smithson, Bristol, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Douglas G. Warden will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 from the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Woods to officiate. Music will be provided by Don Garrett, pianist, and Teresa Chaplin, soloist. Family will receive friends 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to services, at the Church. Military Graveside Services will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 5th, 2004 from the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be: Derl McCloud, Jerry McCloud, Clarence Howard, Thurl Potter, Danny Rhymer and Terry Cable. Honorary Pallbearer is Clint Howard.
