Dr. Helen Jones Proos, age 88, of Butler, TN passed away on Friday, August 07, 2015 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton, TN following a lengthy illness. She was a loving wife, mother, healer/comforter, and loyal friend to many. She was a Nashville, TN native Dr. Proos was a daughter to the late Albert Reams Greene and Annie Lois Greene of Nashville, TN. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee Medical School, Memphis, TN. She loved traveling, painting, boating, reading, horseback riding and enjoyed the outdoors. Survivors include; Husband Richard Proos, Butler, TN 4 children: Greg Jones, Bowling Green, KY Sue Wilson and husband Jeff, Wake Forrest, NC Jamey Jones and wife Gloria, Collierville, TN Clara Spurlock and husband Roger, Fayetteville, TN 1 Brother: Dr. Glenn Greene, Owensboro, KY 9 Grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 nieces. A celebration of life service to honor Helen will be conducted on Monday August 10, 2015 from the Hux Lipford Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel a t 1:00 pm with Pastor Dwayne Dickson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the service hour. Mrs. Proos family gives grateful appreciation and recognition to the many loving and skilled caregivers at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital and Mountain States Hospice who cared for Helen in her final days and supported her family as if they were their own. We express special gratitude to Ms. Linda Winebarger, with the Silver Angles of Elizabethton, for her personal, attentive and loving care of Helen and her husband while at home.
