Johnson Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital of Elizabethton, Tennessee, following a brief illness. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Johnson County, Tennessee to the late Emory and Ruth Morefield Gentry. In addition to her parents, Earleen was preceded in death by her husband, Gale J. Mabe and one great grandson, Jason Scott Dugger. Earleen was a former Sunday School Teacher and was active in the Women's Missionary Union in Pennsylvania. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain City, Tennessee. Earleen enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and reading. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Helen and James Gill of Abingdon, VA, Shirley and Bob Trent of Meadowview, VA, Brenda and Paul Miller of Butler, TN and Carolyn and Dennis Clark of Meadowview, VA; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Thomas and Diane Mabe of New London, PA and Ray Mabe of Mountain City, TN; three sisters: Bessie, Annis and Evelyn, all of PA; one brother, Coy of Trade, TN; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and special friends: Betty Stewart, Madalyn Key and Roy and Betty Isaacs. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Earleen Mabe will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Reece, Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Jeff Stout to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to Services on Friday. Graveside Services and Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum of Love. Active Pallbearers will be: Bobby Reece, Steve Gill, Joey Salmons, Jon Stout, Timmy Mabe and Michael Mabe. Escort Pallbearers will be: Ryan Clark, Bucky Salmons, Chris Mabe, Faith Mabe, Mara Clark, Angie Boucher, Chris York, Lori Caldwell, Tracy Mabe and Natasha Reece. Honorary Pallbearers are: Roy and Betty Isaacs, Betty Stewart, Madelyn Key, Doctors and Nurses of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. At other times, friends may call at the residence.
