Earnest William Laws, Sr.

Earnest William Laws, Sr., age 72, of 1168 South Shady Street, Village Apartment 202, Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Clyde Laws and Faye Norris Laws. Mr. Laws was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Tishie Short Laws. Survivors include: four sons: Earnest Laws, Jr., Ricky Laws, Donald Laws and Danny Laws; one sister: Linda Woods and husband Jim. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Christine Fletcher. Funeral services for Earnest Williams Laws, Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Stidham officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 ? 1:00 p.m. prior to the services. At other times, friend may call at the home of his sister, Linda Woods, at 700 McElyea Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, per family request, donations may be made to the Earnest William Laws, Sr. Memorial Fund, 300 West Main Street, Mountain City, Tennessee. Arrangements for the Laws family are in the care of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
