Edgar Ray Dowell

Edgar Ray Dowell, age 74 of 503 Hospital Hill Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13,2005 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, Edgar was born on May 26, 1930 to the late John W. and Lottie Davis Dowell. He enjoyed collecting knives, guns and watches. Edgar was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice Marie Dowell, of the home; two daughters, Holly M. Dowell and friend, Danial R. Winters and Florence "Flo" Dowell and friend, Michael R. Pope; one son, William R. Dowell; two very special grandchildren, Sidney D. Winters and Caleb R. Pope; one brother, Butler Dowell, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; one sister, Inez Trivette of Ohio and special cousin, Florence Cramer of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Edgar will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from the Hux-Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Porter and Rev. Roy Dowell to officiate. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Snyder-Rash Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Michael Pope, Danial Winters, Ronnie Rupard, Chris Stanbery, Avery Brown and Kenny Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers are: Nurses of Home Health. The Family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to Services at the Funeral Home Chapel.
