Edgar Eggers

Edgar Woodrow Eggers, age 91, of 506 Edgar Eggers Road, Trade, Tenn. passed away, Saturday, January 3, 2004 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born October 12, 1912 to the late Emmitt and Ada Maines Eggers. He was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Eggers, a great granddaughter and a great grandson. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ. Edgar loved hunting and fishing. Surviving is his loving wife of 69 years, Hester Reece Eggers; (3) sons: Donald Eggers and wife Louise of Vilas, N. C., Curtis Eggers and wife Lucy of Boone, N. C. and Norman Ray (Bub) Eggers of the home; (5) daughters: Louise Morefield and husband Everette of Meadowview, Virginia, Lucille Cress of Mountain City, Juanita Eggers of Mountain City, Cara Lee Johnson and husband Bernard of Boone, N. C., Jo Ella Winters and husband Randy of Laurel Bloomery, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law,Susie Eggers of Catawba, N. C.; (2) brothers: Charlie H. Eggers of Longview, Washington and Carl Eggers of Trade, Tenn.; a sister, Pearl Thomas of Trade, Tenn.; 28 grandchildren,49 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Monday from the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Mr. Vergil Cretsinger and Mr. Darrell Broking to officiate. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Charles Eggers, Michael Pope, Mark Leonard, Darrel Eggers, Cecil Eggers, Tony Norris, Dwayne Eggers, Tim Leonard The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 P. M. Sunday at the Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the residence 506 Edgar Eggers Road, Trade, Tenn. at anytime. Memorials may be made to the Mountain City Care Center, 919 Medical Park Drive, Mtn. City, TN, 37683.
