Edith Marie Stout, age 89, of 233 Cotton Lane, Butler, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Netu Stansberry and Lockie Payne Stansberry. Edith was a member of Little Doe Baptist Church. She loved flowers and working in her flower garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Conley Stout; one son: Alfred Stout; four brothers: Ullis Stansberry, Ellis Stansberry, Luther Stansberry and Hyder Stansberry.
Survivors include one son: Wallace Stout and wife Sue of Butler, Tennessee; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Stout of Butler, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Evone Pass and husband Tom; Robin Stanley; Rick Stout; and Bobby Stout and wife Robin; six great grandchildren: Jason Pass and wife Koty; Matthew Pass, Nick Reece, Brittley Stanley, Courtney Stout and Connor Stout; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Lestie Courtner, Sandy Pleasant, and Tequilla Courtner.
Funeral services for Edith Marie Stout will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Kreg Smith officiating. Music will be under the direction of Claude Duncan and the Little Doe Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Bobby Stout, Rick Stout, Jason Pass, Matthew Pass, Randy Lee and Nick Reece. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the services. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund for Little Doe Baptist Church, %Everette Brown, 677 Doeville Road, Butler, TN 37640.
