Edna Lunceford

Edna Jean Lunceford, age 80, of 727 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Fritts McCloud, and one daughter Kathy Miller. Edna enjoyed spending time gardening and canning. She especially enjoyed her time as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was formally a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church since 1947. Survivors include: her husband of 63 years, L.C. Lunceford; Two daughters: Anita Vestal of Elizabethton, TN and Rita Southerland and husband Joe of Elizabethton, TN; two sons: Russ Lunceford of the home and Steve Lunceford and wife Stephanie of Elizabethton, TN; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one special great grandson Christopher Lee Sims; and several nieces, nephews and special friends Robert Clark, Johnny Lovelace, Matthew Ainsworth and Brenda Vestal. Services for Edna will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 14, 2015 from Dyson Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Life Care Center in Elizabethton for the care given to Edna.
