Edward Carl Mast

September 7, 1934 — March 27, 2024

Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.  Matthew 25:21

Carl Mast age 89, of Mountain City, TN.  went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  In addition to his parents, Ferd Mast and Carrie Mast, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Mast Aldridge and brother, Earl Mast.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Mast, daughter, Diana (Jeff) Wagner; sons, Phillip (Susan) Mast and David (Amanda) Mast; grandchildren, Lori Wagner Harr, Austin (Jessica) Mast, Caleb Aldridge, Maggie Aldridge, Nikki (David) Brown; great grandchildren, Levi Harr, Logan Harr and Wade Mast; sisters, Thelma Hammons, Lois Atwood, Gay Tripplet and brother, Ray Mast who came every day and sat on the porch in the summer.  He loved his family wholeheartedly but above all he was a faithful servant to God.  Carl was an active member of Nelsons Chapel Church for 60 years.  He loved his church and church family dearly.

Carl retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation.  He loved to travel and had taken many trips out West and a very special trip to Canada.  He was known for his beautiful bird houses that he enjoyed building in his later years.  He loved sitting on the front porch waving to all his friends.  He had very special friends, Ross and Frances Dowell, Rick and Jo Hoosier and Gene Mast.

Graveside service for Carl will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at The Dunn Cemetery with Pastor Mike McNutt, Bill Worley and Reverend Frank Woods officiating.  Everyone is asked to assemble at the Dunn Cemetery at 10:30 am prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Kimberly Kleine for her excellent care and friendship.

Pallbearers will be Austin Mast, Caleb Aldridge, Jeff Wagner, Levi Harr, Logan Harr, Stacy Dowell, Mike White and Rick Hoosier.

Honorary pallbearers are The Nelsons Chapel Men's Sunday School Class.
