Effie Violet (Austin) Burrell, age 91, of 3023 Sink Valley Road, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at her residence. She was born on January 23, 1915 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late James E. and Kate (Caperton) Austin. In addition to her parents, Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Burrell; two sons: Charles Burrell and Henry David Burrell; one granddaughter, Cindy Burrell and three brothers: James Austin, Fred Austin and Everett Austin. Effie worked for many years as a LPN in West Virginia before moving to Tennessee. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Sink Valley Missionary Baptist Church. . She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Sue Church and husband James (Bud), of the home; three grandsons: Terry Steele of Butler, Tennessee, Kenneth David Burrell and Eddie Burrell, both of Harper, West, Virginia; three granddaughters: Judy Starling of Timonium, Maryland, Debra Legg of Harper, West Virginia and Patricia Morgan of Florida; fourteen great grandchildren; three sisters: Patsy McElyea, Linda Lingerfield, Sandra Edds, all of Bristol, Tennessee and Laverne Dancy of Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers: Charles Austin and Hugh Austin, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; several special nieces and nephews and many, many special friends. Funeral Services for Effie Burrell will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2006 from the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey White to officiate. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m., prior to the Service. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from the Union Memorial Garden, Union, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be family and friends of Effie. At other times, friends may call at the residence of Betty and Bud Church, 3023 Sink Valley Road, Butler, Tennessee 37640. The family sends a special thank you and appreciation to Dr. James Shine and Nurse Kathleen Reece, Staff of Johnson County Medical Group and Nurses and Staff of Johnson County Home Health.
