Elbert Frank Perkins Sr.

Elbert Frank Perkins Sr., age 82, of 249 Moreland Drive, Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on February 1, 1923, the son of the late Robert Greene Perkins and Esther Wagner Perkins. In addition to his parents, Elbert was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Perkins. He was a retired employee of Shouns Lumber and also enjoyed mechanic work. Elbert was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lillie "Emmiline" Robinson Perkins, of the home; one daughter, Carla JoAnn Heaton of Hampton, TN; three sons: Robert Perkins and wife Barbara of Butler, TN, Frank Perkins and wife Penny, also of Butler, TN and Haskel Grady Perkins of Doe Valley, TN; three sisters: Cleo Osborne of Piney Flatts, TN, Nove Lee Hatch of California and Nell Forrester of Elizabethton, TN; three brothers: RG Perkins, Earnest Perkins and Lee Roy Perkins, all of Elizabethton, TN; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends: Marvin Mannis, Boyd Peterson and Leon Hathorne. Funeral Services for Elbert will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 from the Cobbs Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Koch to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m on Tuesday, prior to Services. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 from the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Elbert's three sons: Robert Perkins, Frank Perkins and Haskel Grady Perkins and Leon Hathorne, Waco Perkins and Marvin Mannis. Honorary Pallbearers will be: George Shoun, Hack Pierce and Jay Matherly. Those attending Graveside Services and Interment are asked to assemble by 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, at the cemetery. At other times, friends may call at the residence 249 Moreland Drive or at the residence of Robert Perkins, 255 Moreland Drive, Butler, Tennessee 37640.
