Reverend Elizabeth Elaine Murphy, age 58, of 189 Tom Phillippi Road, Mountain City, TN passed away May 5, 2010 following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Harry A. Murphy and Goldie Fenner Murphy. Elaine loved her family dearly and her life was dedicated to helping her fellowman. She was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church and was a retired Methodist minister, retired from the Social Security Administration, and a paralegal in Mountain City, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Fannie Phillippi Fenner; uncles: Spencer Fenner, Emory Fenner, Gail Fenner and wife Thelma Fenner.

Survivors include two special aunts: Eula Fenner of Logan, WV and Marjorie Fenner of Mountain City, TN; several cousins: Phyllis Fenner Cooper of Logan, WV; Jack Fenner and wife Jackie of Myrtle Beach, SC; Patty and Jim Winkler of Logan, WV; Roger and Jennie Fenner, and Rick Fenner, all of Mountain City, TN; Jim and Famah Fenner of Gray, TN; and Tim and Michelle Fenner of Williamson, GA; special friend Jackie Brooks of Morristown, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford-Teague Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Fenner and Rev. Kristie Baines officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow in Phillippi Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Winkler, Roger Fenner, Rick Fenner, Jim Fenner, Steven Nichols, Jesse Wilson, Paul Pusateria and John Younce. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Shupe, Mike Phillippi, David Wilson, David Brooks and Scott Brooks. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
At other times friends may call at the residence of her aunt, Marjorie Fenner, 463 Liberty Church Road, Mountain City, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Phillippi Cemetery, %Danny Cullop, 410 Houser Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
