Obituary for: Ella Bumgardner Carrier Ella Bumgardner Carrier, age 89, of Holston Drive, Bristol, Tenn. died Monday March 29, 2004 in the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN. Mrs. Carrier was a native of Trade, TN. and was born December 5, 1914 to the late Frank and Rosa Thomas Bumgardner. She was a former resident of Zionville, N. C. Mrs. Carrier was preceded in death by her husbands Doss Fletcher and Howard Carrier, also by a step-daughter Iva Lee Jackson, five sisters and one brother. She was a homemaker and retired from Appalachian State University in Boone, N. C. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Zionville, N. C. Survivors include a stepson, Kenneth Fletcher and wife Lucille of Bristol, TN. A step-granddaughter Christina, one step-grandson, Steven Henson all of Bristol, T Four sisters Ruth Cornett and Bertha Tester of Zionville, N. C. Wilma Richardson and Husband Donald of San Antonio, Texas, Geneva and Husband Butler Wilson of Bristol, TN. One brother, Earl Bumgardner and wife Earleen of Trade, TN. She is also survived by a number of Nieces and Nephews. Funeral services for Ella Bumgardner Carrier will be held 2:00 P. M. Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Chapel of the Henson Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert McCoy and Rev. Maurice Ward to officiate. Graveside services will follow in the Wilson Cemetery, Zionville, N. C. Pallbearers will be: Robert Wilson, Freddie Wilson, Terry Wilson, Buddy Beach, Jackie Warren, Ted Welch. The family will receive Friends from 1:00 P. M. till 2:00 P. M.
