Ellen Ruth Cable

Ellen Ruth Cable, age 88, of 5856 Big Dry Run Road, Butler, TN passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Vance Dishman and Eve Arnold Dishman. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Cable loved reading, gardening, sewing and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Cable; two sons: Billy and Bobby Cable; grandson: Dallas Tester; three sisters: Nell Combs, Doris Dunn and Faye Lipford; and two brothers: Bert Lipford and Ed Lipford. Survivors include: five daughters: Gloria Tester of Hickory, NC; Fern Arnold and husband Jack of Mountain City, TN; Myrtle Corum and Jewel Arnold, both of Butler, TN; and Brenda Dildine of High Point, NC; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. A funeral service for Ellen Ruth Cable will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from the East Side Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Potter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Snyder, Dr. Jim Shine, Janie Henry and Julie Stanley. Burial will be in Cable Cemetery. At other times friends may call at the residence 5856 Big Dry Run Road, Butler, TN or may call 727-5536. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
