Elsie Louise King, age 83, of 285 Blant Road, MountainCity, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 27, 2004 at her residence. A native of McDowell County, West Virginia, she was born April 27, 1921 to the late David and Irene Howard-Cunningham Sr. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by husband Paul L. King Sr.; daughter, Rita King McKeown; two brothers, John Ralph and Donald Cunningham; one sister, Ilene Hicks and one grandchild, Leslie King. Elsie was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by: three daughters, Anita King Huber and husband William of Omaha, Nebraska, Phyllis King Lowe of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mary King of Mountain City; two sons, Sonny Paul King and Michael King both of Mountain City; three sisters, Margret Vaught, Juanita Cunningham Gentry and husband Tom and Nancy Morris and husband Nolan, all of Mountain City; three brothers, David Cunningham Jr., Danny Cunningham, both of Mountain City and Harry Cunningham of Alexandria, Virginia; special friend and pet, Her Teacup Chihuahua- Misty; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Elsie will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004 from the Chapel of the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Campbell, Rev. David Cunningham and Rev. Harry Cunningham to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Sherri and Sharon Campbell. Graveside Services and Interment will follow from the Acre Field Cemetery, Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. Active Pallbearers will be: Larry Snyder, Jason Snyder, Kevin Main, Steven Pardue, Harold Hall, Scott Snyder and Paul Price. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at the Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, friends may call at the residence, 285 Blant Road, Mountain City, Tennessee. A Dinner for Family and Friends will also be held Thursday at 5:00 p.m. following Services at the Antioch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Mountain City, Tennessee.
