Emaline Perkins, age 94, of 176 Bayless Road, Jonesborough, TN passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the Four Oaks Health Care Center in Jonesborough. She was born May 25, 1920 in Johnson County to the late Daniel Robinson and Elizabeth Smith Robinson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Frank Perkins Sr.; daughter Bertha Emma Robinson; sister Bertha Lewis; and her best friend Margie Peters. She was a member of Cobbs Creek Baptist Church. She was a best know for being a caregiver for the sick until her retirement. She loved her horse Ginger and her dogs. Survivors include: daughters: Barbara Hopkins of Jonesborough, TN and Joanne Heaton of Hampton, TN; sons: Robert Perkins of SC; Frank Perkins of Butler, TN; and Grady Perkins of Shady Valley, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 from the Eastside Memory Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. Boyd Peters to officiate. A graveside service and interment will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robin Hopkins, Danny Huddleston, Robert Perkins, Brandon Cole and Nathan Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Peters and Carl Blackburn. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to The Johnson County Humane Society, P.O. Box 307, Mountain City, TN 37683. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
