Erlene "Dean" Garland

Erlene "Dean" Garland, age 82, entered her eternal home Friday, January 31, 2025 following an extended illness.  Erlene was born in Carter County January 25, 1943 to Wiley and Faye Isaacs Hatley.   In addition to her parents, Erlene was preceded in eternity by her husband of 32 years, Barton Garland; her father in law and mother in law, Garrison and Flossie Garland; her sisters, Thelma Stanton and Geraldine Hatley; brothers, J.D., Tom, Dave and Dewey Hatley.

Leaving behind her only son, Wesley; brother, Bud Hatley and several nieces, nephew, and cousins.

Erlene pretty much loved everyone she met.  She loved her church family at Little Doe Baptist Church, her neighbors and thoroughly enjoyed the Senior Center and the people there.  Erlene's hobby was gardening and  flowers and more flowers.  She grew them everywhere. If you ever went to her house you probably left with some flowers and flower seed.

A graveside service for Erlene will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Rock Springs Cemetery with Craig Smith officiating.  Everyone is welcome.
