Esther Stewart Adkins, age 83, of 101 Frank Shupe Lane, Butler, TN went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton after an extended illness. Mrs. Adkins was a native of South West Virginia, but lived most of her life in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania before moving in with her daughter and son-in-law in Butler. She was born on November 20, 1919. Mrs. Adkins was a nurse's aid at Pocopson Home in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Bethany Baptist Church before her illness. Mrs. Adkins was an avid flower gardener and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce Adkins; son, James Bruce Adkins; and nine brothers and sisters. Survivors: (1) daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and Robert Snyder, Butler, TN (3) Grandchildren: Mitchell Snyder Elizabeth DeVela Daniel Snyder (1) Great Grandaughter: Kenya DeVela Several Nieces and Nephews Hux-Lipford Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 15, 2003 at the Hux-Lipford Funeral Home.
